The endless geothermal shower near Krafla power plant, with warm water constantly flowing surrounded by volcanic terrain near

The Endless Shower is a unique and quirky open-air geothermal shower located near the Krafla volcano area in North Iceland, close to Lake Mývatn.

Unlike typical showers, this one has no walls, windows, or curtains—it's completely outdoors, surrounded only by the wild Icelandic landscape. The water is naturally heated by geothermal energy, providing a warm shower experience even in the chilly Icelandic climate.

This shower originated accidentally when workers drilling a geothermal borehole for the Krafla power plant hit a hot water source, and instead of closing it off, the site evolved into a public hot shower. Visitors driving by or exploring the area are welcome to stop and enjoy this unusual experience free of charge.

It is considered a rare luxury — a hot shower in the middle of nowhere, powered entirely by the earth’s natural heat.
